ice fishing
We know that most folks don't like to reveal
the location of their favorite fishing hole.
But, being such a generous lot of souls,
we'll tell the whole story: fish, line, and pole.

From the second largest natural lake in Colorado to
hidden mountain waters, you'll find plenty of trout to
your liking.  Try your hand at winter fly fishing when the
streams are still open, or set your ice-fishing hut on Lake
San Cristobal for the weekend.

— Gear, licenses, and catch limit information are
available at our local supply stores.
— The annual Ice Fishing Derby is hosted every
February by the Lake City Gun Club.

Recommended ice fishing locations:
— Lake San Cristobal is the closest to town and the
largest body of water in the area.  Ice huts can be
left up for the weekend.
— Brown Lakes, located 28 miles south of Lake City
