Local Trail & Road Conditions

For up-to-date and further information, call the Chamber of Commerce at 970-944-2527.

Colorado Highway 149 is open year-round and is well-maintained by the Colorado Department of Transportation. Before traveling, please check on current conditions for Highway 149 and all Colorado highways.

Note that for June 2016, there will be construction on Slumgullion Pass.  This will leave only one lane operating and a pilot car to follow.  Delays are estimated between 30 and 45 minutes.  Our recommendation is to plan your trip coming through Gunnison, CO, dropping in to Lake City from the north.  For any questions or specific dates of construction, call the Visitor Center at 970-944-2527.

Road conditions as of 6/13/16 -
