Public Parks & Armory Hall

Lake City is home to several public parks and the
historic Armory building which are available for your
group outings.

The
Town Park is located in Historic Downtown Lake
City and is roomy enough to accommodate several
hundred people.  Facilities include a seasonal restroom
building, playground, water spigot, picnic tables and
plenty of free downtown parking.  Dogs are not
permitted in this park.  For use guidelines and more
information, call the Town of Lake City,
970-944-2333.

The sizable
Lake Fork Memorial Park is situated
close to town at the confluence of Henson Creek and
the Lake Fork of the Gunnison River.  Facilities include
a year-round restroom building with catering kitchen,
softball field, soccer field, accessible fishing pier, skate
park, pedestrian bridges, and easy access to
downtown Lake City.  Dogs are permitted in this
park; owners must clean up after their pet.  For use
guidelines and more information, call the Town of
Lake City at 970-944-2333.

Red Mountain Gulch Day Use Area is located at
the south end of Lake San Cristobal.  Facilities include
several picnic spots, each with a picnic table and grill,
plus a pavilion shelter with a large outdoor cooking
area.  Restrooms are available seasonally.  This
picturesque area is close to the marshy end of the
lake where many birds and other wildlife may be seen.
For more information about this area, call Hinsdale
County at 970-944-2225.

The
Lake City Armory is an historic meeting hall
that is still used for numerous community functions,
and is located in the heart of Lake City.  Facilities
include
restrooms and a sound system (and shelter from
the elements, of course).  Chairs and tables are available
for use in the hall; please inquire.  Reservations must be
scheduled in advance.  A small rental fee and trash fee
apply to most private functions.  For more information,
call the Town of Lake City at 970-944-2333
