Slow your pace and enjoy the scenery.  Wonderful journeys are possible on horseback.  Horses lighten the load and give you a different point of view on the trail.  There are hundreds of miles of non-motorized trails in the Lake City area that are available for you to explore.  Trailer your own animals or arrange for services with local outfitters.
