Even the most avid outdoor enthusiast needs a day off every now and then. In Lake City, there is no shortage of ways to fill your days off and nights on the town. Lake City's organizations and businesses offer a wide variety of events, including music performances, exercise classes, arts and crafts, festivals, plays, kid friendly activities, races, and historic tours. Stop by and see what all is going on!

Special Events ( some up until Christmas)

Letters to Santa Drop-off box at the Post Office from December 1st to 21st. Include your name and mailing address. Santa will send a letter back to you! Sponsored by the Lake City Post Office.

Parade of Lights Contest Deck out your vehicle in lively lights and show your holiday spirit during our Parade of Lights. Sign up by December 5th to be considered for the cash prizes. Parade begins at corner of 5th and Silver at 5:45 p.m., parade will start at 6 p.m. Lake City DIRT’s float sponsored by Lake City Auto & Sports Center.

Lake City Ski Hill Regular hours 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. The Ski Hill will be opening the Saturday before Christmas (snow dependent). The Ski Hill may be open additional days over the winter break.

Lake City Ice Rink Located at Memorial Park, available for use any time, dependent on cold weather.

Toys for Tots Donations accepted at Hinsdale County Sheriff’s Department on Henson Street. Please check the Lake City Arts website (www.lakecityarts.org) and marquee for additional holiday events.

February 2015

SEPTEMBER 4-7, 2015

OHV Rally & Festival hosted by LCHC Chamber of Commerce. Enjoy 4 days of access into historic downtown and on specific parts of HWy 149 for all OHV vehicles over Labor Day Weekend. Lots being planned - live music, ghost town tour on Alpine Loop, OHV contests, and more!
